Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server. The role is full-time in Arlington, VA, within the Information Technology department.

The candidate will administer SQL Server, perform migrations, implement backups and monitoring, and support related Microsoft technologies and virtualization platforms. CGS emphasizes collaboration, growth opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years direct SQL Server DBA experience.

Responsibilities

Administer Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore procedures, Capacity Planning, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services.
Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
Provide basic systems administration: planning, testing, installations, configurations of hardware/software.
Recommend/implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
Implement, deploy, and/or support Microsoft Technologies (Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services).
Support virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) with VM creation/configuration.
Back up web, application, and database servers per policies; perform daily increments and full weekly backups.
Monitor space, perform DB activities, and provide extended hours support when needed.
