Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server. The role includes replication, backups, performance tuning, and supporting SQL Server 2012–2016 migrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant SQL Server DBA experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Experience with VMware and Hyper-V visualization.
• Familiarity with source control, bug tracking, SDLC.
• Ability to handle confidential materials.
• Team and independent work capability.
• Ability to document decisions and processes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server including Replication, Backups, Capacity Planning, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for new hardware/software.
• Recommend/implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Implement, deploy, and/or support Microsoft techs (VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services).
• Support visualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, create/configure VMs.
• Perform backups per MPA policies; daily incremental and weekly full backups.
• Monitor, space management, and extended hours of DB system support.
