Job summary

Republic Airways Inc. is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA to own core database operations and drive modernization across the data platform.

You will deploy, configure, and manage SQL Server instances in clustered, standalone, and Azure environments, while leading governance and security enhancements. The role requires 8+ years of enterprise SQL Server experience, expert T-SQL skills, and working knowledge of Azure SQL and Synapse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent coupled with extensive SQL Server DBA experience.
• 8+ years in enterprise SQL Server environments with strong T-SQL expertise.
• Hands-on Azure SQL and Synapse administration and migrations.
• Proven HA/DR design, security hardening, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Own core DBA duties including SQL Server installation, configuration and patching.
• Monitor, analyze and optimize performance; tune queries, indexes, and workloads.
• Design backup/recovery strategies and test DR plans regularly.
• Lead modernization efforts toward Azure SQL, Synapse, and cloud adoption.
• Enforce security, roles, permissions, encryption and audit readiness.
• Develop automation with PowerShell and CI/CD for DB changes.
