Job summary

The City of Doral is seeking a Recreation Programs Manager to organize, promote, conduct, and supervise recreational sports programs and events across a large activity center. This exempt, full-time role oversees part-time Recreation Aides and requires delivering quality programs that engage all ages and abilities.

The position plans budgets, coordinates leagues, and collaborates with community partners to expand services while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in recreation administration, leisure services, program management, public administration, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum two years of full-time paid experience planning, organizing, promoting, and supervising diverse sports programming and events.
• Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise youth and adult sports programs.
• Coordinate leagues and events at facilities.
• Develop a flexible calendar of programs and events.
• Plan and manage program operations budgets.
• Research community needs for new programs.
• Prepare reports on programs, attendance, and safety incidents.
• Recruit instructors, volunteers, and staff.
• Engage with sports providers and grant opportunities.
• Assist with bids, RFPs, and sponsorships.
• Plan and supervise staff and performance evaluations.
• Ensure safety and discipline at events.
• Support department park projects as directed.
