Job summary

Southland Industries in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a senior leader to direct the planning and scheduling of Special Projects, contributing to achieving company objectives and maximizing operating results.

You will implement project management processes, provide inputs on constructability, cost control, and scheduling during planning and execution, monitor performance, escalate issues, and align efforts with broader company goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent education, training and/or experience.
• 10 years of experience in mechanical construction operations, including industrial and specialty construction experience.
• Knowledge of company operations and philosophy.
• Proficient organizational and analytical skills.
• Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to successfully establish and achieve corporate, group, and project goals.

Responsibilities

• Directs the planning and scheduling of Special Projects to meet company and project objectives.
• Supports the implementation of project management processes, policies, and procedures within corporate policy.
• Provides inputs on constructability, cost control, and scheduling during planning and execution.
• Monitors project performance against plans, providing feedback and escalating issues as needed.
• Supports achievement of short- and long-term goals, aligning with broader company objectives.
• Identifies and resolves project-specific challenges, coordinating with staff and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborates in cross-functional projects and shares operational best practices.
• Supports budget monitoring and cost analysis to maintain financial control of projects.
• Identifies staff training needs and supports career development.
• Establishes objectives and work plans, delegates assignments, and ensures adherence to budgets and schedules.
