Job summary

Distinctive Schools is seeking a Special Education Compliance Manager to oversee student evaluations, monitor IEPs, and support schools, staff, and families to meet regulatory requirements under IDEA and Section 504. The role emphasizes a data‑driven approach to improve student development and achievement across campuses in Chicago.

The position reports to the Managing Director of Student Services and entails traveling to multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or Master’s in educational administration.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding special education and related services.
• Experience as a Special Education Case Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance rate at all campuses for Annual Reviews, Initial and Three-Year Reevaluations.
• Monitor progress, services and IEPs; elevate issues to the Managing Director of Student Services.
• Collaborate with principals on special education concerns; liaison with ISD/LEA and state agencies.
