Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced structural analyst to perform detailed hand calculations and FEM analyses on New Glenn structures. You will create concise analysis documentation, review peers, and guide design engineers and junior analysts to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

The role requires strong background in classical aerospace analysis methods, scripting, and experience with multiple analysis codes.

Qualifications

• BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in aircraft/spacecraft or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience with hand calculations and non-conformance dispositioning.
• Proficiency with at least two analysis codes (e.g., Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus).
• Strong scripting skills (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.).
• Ability to communicate across a varied team and produce concise analysis reports.

Responsibilities

• Detailed hand calculations and FEM analysis of primary/secondary aerospace structures.
• Document stress analyses to support release of drawings and documents.
• Provide guidance on repair methods and analytical practices for metallic/composite structures.
• Develop and deliver analysis guidance to design engineers and junior analysts.
• Create automated tools for model creation, strength checks, and report generation.
