Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA seeks a Senior Engineering Specialist to lead advanced systems integration and test efforts across multiple space programs. You will drive architecture, verification, and integration activities for classified space systems, working with government, FFRDC, and contractor teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and rigorous systems engineering throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering or program management.
  • Knowledge of space and space related systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to form and lead teams.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic Program Office with government, FFRDC, and SETA personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; experience presenting and writing technical information.
  • Some travel required.
  • Current TS/SCI or Q clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge test and integration methodologies including agile practices, Digital Engineering, enterprise performance testing, and proliferated constellation strategies.
  • Lead coordination and integration efforts across Government, SETA, and contractor teams to field highly classified systems for Space Systems Center, IC, NASA, and NNSA programs.
  • Provide comprehensive systems engineering and integration expertise across mission, organizational, physical, functional, and interfaces throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Direct test planning and execution activities including architecture design, operational testing, data evaluation, anomaly resolution, and risk assessment for space systems.
  • Support requirements development and validation with verifiable requirements, models, simulations, and test beds.
  • Deliver integration support to programs and LEPs through reviews, investigations, studies, and acquisition support for new and existing programs.
  • Ensure end-to-end program success from requirements to Launch, Initialization, and Operations with focus on interface and transition validation.
