Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Enterprise Systems Engineering to lead space architecture activities and cross-functional teams. You’ll influence system designs across satellites, ground, and networks, working with program offices and customers in a fast-paced defense and space environment.

Requirements include a BS in engineering, 10+ years in systems engineering or program management, strong leadership, and eligibility for a Top Secret/SCI

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of professional engineering/scientific experience with systems engineering principles.
• Leadership experience in system or enterprise architecting, systems engineering, concept design, and/or MBSE.
• Ability to identify problem space, assess trade options, and independently formulate courses of action.
• Experience initiating and leading cross-functional, cross-organizational teams to plan and execute projects or studies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for leadership briefings, formal reports, and informal communications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally ~5–10%.
• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Direct complex technical activities, organize multi-disciplinary project teams, and execute space architecture activities as a SME and project lead.
• Steer strategy in space system architectures and pursue new business opportunities.
• Lead efforts to incorporate emerging technologies and best practices into space system architectures.
• Campaign to establish new partnerships and lead architecture design and evaluation activities.
• Expand ArCon relationships with program offices and customers across ETG.
• Mentor staff to develop department capabilities and meet demand for expertise.
