Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Research and Development Engineer (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer – Multi-Disciplinary Engineering) to lead cross-disciplinary analysis and advance next-generation space technologies for a national security space portfolio.

This full-time onsite role requires a TS/SBI/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, a STEM bachelor’s, and 6+ (Sr 10) years of relevant space systems experience, with opportunities to influence government investments

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in space systems research and development.
  • Experience in evaluating new technologies for space systems such as sensors, processing, or communications.
  • Security clearance: TS/SBI/SCI with polygraph, U.S. citizenship is required to obtain clearance.
  • Direct experience with government or commercial space systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Managing systems analysis, modeling and simulation and technical assessment activities across the customer portfolio.
  • Directing and integrating technical analysis for R&D of new materials, technologies, and systems for overhead intelligence collection.
  • Evaluating impact of concepts and CONOPs on national security space architecture.
  • Providing rigorous technical analysis to inform government decisions on future technology investments.
  • Interfacing with government officials, SETA, and contractor personnel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional travel.
