Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Software Architecture Engineering & Cloud Computing Architecture. Lead cloud and ground-system planning, architecture decisions, and technical studies across teams on critical space programs.

Requires 12+ years in space ground systems, strong leadership, and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. On-site role leveraging extensive program knowledge and cross-domain collaboration to deliver complex solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, science or mathematics.
• Minimum 12 years’ experience in space ground systems including cloud implementation, enterprise integration and ground systems development.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, customers, and contract personnel.
• Must have active TS/SCI and polygraph; US citizenship required for security clearance.
• Ability to define technical tasks, form and lead technical teams, and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Compute Architecting: analyze cloud, hybrid, and dedicated processing/storage architecture and management.
• System Design & Acquisition: analyze and recommend ground system architecture, software design, acquisition strategies, operations, sustainment, and maintenance.
• Segment Integration: define space-to-ground and ground-to-ground integration plans with cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Technical project leadership: define and manage tasking for a team of support engineers and monitor delivery of studies and analyses.
• Requirements Engineering: develop and analyze system requirements for models, test beds, equipment, and end-to-end testing.
