Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the SDA Project in a hybrid work setting. You will lead architecture and integration for Mission Planning, Flight Dynamics, Ground Entry Point Management, and Fleet Operations Monitoring, requiring a Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

You will collaborate across hardware, software, and network teams to ensure successful mission outcomes. Strong systems engineering and AGILE experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Satellite Operations and/or Ground Segment Development
• Experience with system engineering methodologies and AGILE processes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex analyses clearly
• Ability to analyze situations, generate solutions, and see them through to completion
• Proactive knowledge sharing and multitasking in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for satellite ground system components
• Develop and maintain system-level architecture and design documentation
• Perform requirements analysis, decomposition, and management for Space and Ground Segments
• Define system-level requirements with architects and managers and track performance metrics
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning for design activities
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers for interoperability
• Perform system analysis and interface definition and conduct trade studies
• Support major reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR) and program milestones
• Manage shifting priorities and complex technical assignments
• Ensure projects meet technical performance targets and deliver quality results
