Iridium seeks a Director of Software Engineering Ground Systems Development to lead a large team responsible for ground software for satellite constellations. You will oversee design, development, testing, and transition to operations for ground terminals and operations centers, ensuring systems meet program objectives.

The role requires an active Top Secret U.S. clearance and will involve travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
15+ years of relevant experience in the satellite ground development industry.
Previous management experience of a software engineering team.
Software development expertise including agile development process.
Excellent communication skills across all employee groups.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
U.S. Citizen or equivalent.

Lead a large software engineering organization for ground systems and related operations software.
Develop and maintain software for ground terminals and operations centers for satellite constellations.
Mentor and train team members and evaluate performance.
Staffing strategy for the Ground Software Development team and talent development.
Lead cross-functional projects to optimize operational performance and meet program objectives.
Ensure delivery of critical technical milestones and results.
