Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced structural analyst to lead detailed hand calculations and FE analyses for New Glenn structures. You will document stress analyses, support hardware qualification, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance aerospace design and testing efforts.

The role emphasizes leadership in stress analysis, fatigue/fracture assessment, and process automation, with a strong focus on safety and quality in human spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering; 8+ years in aircraft/spacecraft structures.
• Proficiency with Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys or Abaqus.
• High proficiency with Ansys Mechanical, Abaqus CAE or Hypermesh.
• Understanding of FEM modeling techniques.
• Experience with development/qualification testing.
• Knowledge of aerospace structural requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed hand calculations and FE analysis of primary/secondary structures.
• Document stress analyses to support release of drawings.
• Plan and run test campaigns; create qualification reports.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress/fracture analysis.
• Improve enterprise analysis with automation tools for models and reports.
• Collaborate across teams and shop floor.
