Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a structural engineer to own design, analysis, development and testing of primary and secondary structures for MK2 as part of Artemis 3 and 4. You will build 3D models, generate drawings, guide integration, and mentor junior engineers.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability, apply structural mechanics to sizing and load paths, and support cost and safety outcomes across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience on recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles in design, sizing and material selection.
• Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD.
• Familiar with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for U.S. visa as required.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures.
• Build 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, interfaces.
• Provide technical guidance for integration and liaison engineering.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Develop test plans and flight hardware documentation.
• Collaborate with materials and manufacturing teams for hardware.
• Plan tests and review data.
• Maintain activity schedule, budget, and status.
• Identify safety and cost-improvement opportunities.
