Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking engineers to lead design, analysis and testing of primary and secondary structures for MK2. You will own designs from concept to launch, size and analyze them, and work with manufacturing to ensure proper integration.

The role demands a BS in engineering, experience on aerospace structures, and strong CAD/analysis skills; a path toward safe, repeatable spaceflight with a collaborative culture is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Structural design of metallic components and assemblies.
• Vehicle load path distribution and sizing.
• Material selection and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong mechanical design and integration using 3D CAD.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures.
• Build 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, and interfaces.
• Provide technical guidance for integration and liaison engineering.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Develop test plans, specifications, and flight hardware documentation.
• Coordinate with materials and manufacturing teams to realize hardware.
• Plan and conduct tests; review data; manage schedule and budget.
• Identify safety improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
