Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced avionics hardware engineer to own the design and development of boards and assemblies for spaceflight systems. You will shepherd analog, digital and mixed-signal hardware through concept, requirements, verification and release to production.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in high-power electronics, DC-DC converters, Si/GaN/SiC devices, and collaboration across teams to enable mission assurance and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years in electronics hardware development.
  • Experience selecting power-stage topologies and control schemes for DC-DC converters.
  • Hands-on experience with high power/high voltage DC-DC power converters and protection.
  • Proficient in circuit simulation tools LTspice, PSpice, SIMetrix for analysis and verification.
  • Hands-on with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, testing, and layout.
  • Experience with Si, GaN and SiC devices.
  • Strong technical communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Develop avionics hardware (boards and assemblies) across lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Design analog and digital boards interfacing with avionics systems (power electronics, compute, sensors).
  • Support architecture trades studies, performance characterization, and roadmap direction.
  • Participate in risk analyses, DFx, root-cause analysis, and test discrepancy resolution.
  • Contribute to technology development, mission assurance, and process improvements.
