Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Space Planner to support the USAF Academy mission. The role focuses on space planning, data-driven reporting, and collaboration with installation and community planners to align real property requirements with strategic objectives.

The candidate will present briefings on space utilization, regulations, and programming, while leading embedded staff at military installations and ensuring adherence to AF planning playbooks and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related fields (engineering, architecture, or construction).
• Minimum 10 years experience in Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry.
• Minimum 5 years project management experience (senior).
• Ability to interact and work alongside daily with various stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to submit and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and manage all space planning activities and report to Portfolio Optimization Manager on the status of all space utilization reports.
• Assist with overall strategy in planning for future real property requirements to meet the USAFA mission.
• Collaborate with community planners for multiple Base planning functions (Space Utilization, Installation Development plans, Area Development Plans).
• Prepare and present briefings for facility space utilization, SRM, MILCON, community planning, and programming functions.
• Be the subject matter expert on USAFA space planning regulations such as AFH 32-1084 and local standards.
• Maintain a current copy of the General Plan and development plans and provide briefings to leadership.
• Lead and support embedded staff at military installations.
• Perform other duties as needed
