Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Space Planner to support the USAF Academy mission from Colorado Springs.

You will lead space planning activities, report to leadership and the Facility Utilization Board, and collaborate with civil engineers and planners to align space needs with base development programs. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in urban planning, AICP certification, and 5+ years of planning/design experience, with strong communication and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in planning and design
• Master's degree in Urban Planning or related field (preferred)
• AICP Certification (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel to USAFA and work on site
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and manage all space planning activities and report on status of space utilization reports
• Assist with strategy for future real property requirements to meet the USAFA mission
• Collaborate with community planners on Base planning functions
• Prepare and present briefings for facility space utilization and programming functions
• Be subject matter expert on USAFA space planning regulations
• Maintain current copies of General Plan and area development plans
• Lead and support embedded staff at military installations
• Perform other duties as needed
