Job summary

Versar Global Solutions seeks a Facility Space Planner to manage real property space allocations for HQ DAF across the NCR, Pentagon, JBA, and nearby leased spaces. You will coordinate space planning, relocations, and budget processes.

Your role includes interviews, space validation, data submission to WHS and OSD, and liaison with senior officers and interagency stakeholders, ensuring compliant and efficient facility usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field.
• 5+ years experience supporting DoD/DAF or federal space management and real property programs.
• Knowledge of HQ DAF, OSD, GSA, and WHS space management policies preferred.
• 5+ years coordinating relocations, space planning, utilization analysis in the National Capital Region (NCR).
• 5+ years developing policies, procedures, and SOPs related to space and facilities management preferred.
• 5+ years supporting budget planning, POM submissions, lease management, and real property accountability activities preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex space utilization issues and recommend strategic solutions to optimize facility usage.
• Experience preparing reports, briefings, and executive-level correspondence for senior leadership stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills required.
• Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan, and coordinate real property and space management programs supporting HQ DAF mission requirements.
• Conduct interviews, on-site inspections, and space validation assessments in accordance with Rules of Engagement (ROE) established by SAF/AA, OSD, and GSA policies and guidance.
• Analyze and strategically allocate space resources to optimize utilization and support organizational mission objectives.
• Develop procedures, guidance, and instructions governing facility space allocation and management based on higher-level policy and industry best practices.
• Procure, manage, allocate, and control utilization of office, storage, and special use space for HQ DAF offices, Direct Reporting Units (DRUs), Field Operating Agencies (FOAs), and named activities throughout the NCR.
• Support real property acquisitions, disposals, lease management, utilization assessments, in-grant/out-grant actions, accountability reporting, and budget development activities.
• Prepare and submit requests to Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) for new space requirements, modifications to existing space, and prescribed reporting documentation.
• Manage preparation and submission of documentation required for Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) space requests and approvals.
• Serve as the primary Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for Headquarters Air Force relocations within, into, or out of the NCR.
• Develop and coordinate relocation plans for Air Force senior leader approval, ensuring affected staff organizations are properly supported throughout transition activities.
• Plan and submit rent data for HQ DAF space requirements within the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) budget process.
• Review, investigate, and coordinate requests for alterations, repairs, and facility change requirements involving HQ DAF occupied spaces.
• Participate in organizational planning efforts associated with personnel realignments, mission changes, and functional adjustments impacting space allocation requirements.
• Develop and manage operating budgets supporting alterations, repairs, and services for leased facilities.
• Consult and coordinate with flag officers, senior civilian officials, OSD representatives, GSA personnel, and other stakeholders on space management matters.
• Support special projects, initiatives, and executive-level assignments by conducting research, analyzing reports, preparing recommendations, and resolving complex facility and space management issues.
• Provide technical and administrative support, brief leadership, and prepare executive-level responses when higher-level coordination or involvement is required.
