Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, Florida seeks a Senior Specialist Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing of space hardware and RF applications. The role focuses on process improvement, tooling, and producibility from concept through production.

Excellent candidates will have a strong manufacturing engineering background, IPC/J-STD familiarity, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. On-site work with cross-functional teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of related experience; Graduate Degree with 4+ years; without degree, 10+ years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance upon hire.
• Experience with IPC/J-STD and Space Addendum workmanship requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct support on the production floor for manufacturing tasks.
• Provide technical manufacturing expertise and support across operations.
• Develop and support new methods to improve operations and yield.
• Analyze defects and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
• Interface with design and manufacturing to ensure hardware producibility and build strategies.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and estimate costs for tooling and processes.
