Job summary

Blue Origin Technologies in Huntsville is seeking a Senior Technician to join the Operations group. You will build, wire, and test complex electromechanical assemblies in a development manufacturing facility, often as the first to run a job, with limited direction and high quality standards.

You will work across electrical build, mechanical integration, and safety-focused quality processes, with shifts and overtime as required to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on experience building complex electromechanical, electrical, or mechanical assemblies.
• Able to work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and written procedures, and record results accurately.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools, and able to use a multimeter.
• Experience assembling to specification, including torque and fastener procedures.
• Able to work with limited direction, troubleshoot build and test issues, elevate clearly, and train less-experienced teammates.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a shop floor environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install power and control wiring per diagrams, including crimping, ferruling, lugging, soldering, and labeling.
• Terminate high-current conductors and fabricate bus bar assemblies with bolted joints torqued to spec.
• Apply insulation systems and potting or encapsulation.
• Build and wire control, instrumentation, and protection panels and route cables.
• Set up and run electrical and electronics tests per procedures and verify setup before energizing.
• Perform electrical verification and acceptance testing and record results against criteria.
• Troubleshoot failures to board or wiring level and perform approved rework including soldering.
• Operate bench/test equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
• Perform precision mechanical assembly with fits/clearances, alignments, and torque procedures.
• Integrate sub-assemblies into higher units and prepare for acceptance testing.
• Use shop equipment (cranes, rigging) and perform dimensional checks with calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
