Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior technician to build, test, and integrate complex electromechanical assemblies in a development manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL. You will work on high-current power/control wiring, insulation systems, and precision mechanical assembly with limited direction, training others as needed.

The role requires reading engineering drawings and wiring diagrams, using precision tools, and performing thorough verification and documentation of results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on experience building complex electromechanical, electrical, or mechanical assemblies.
• Able to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and procedures; record results accurately.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools; able to use a multimeter.
• Experience assembling to specification, including torque and fastener procedures.
• Able to work with limited direction, troubleshoot issues, and train others.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Electrical build and test.
• Fabricating and installing power and control wiring per diagrams; include crimping, ferruling, soldering, and labeling.
• Terminate high-current conductors; assemble bus bars with torque to spec.
• Apply insulation systems (taping, sleeving, resin, impregnation).
• Build and wire panels; route cable with proper strain relief and grounding.
• Perform electrical verification and acceptance testing and document results.
• Troubleshoot failures to component level and perform approved rework.
• Operate bench/test equipment (multimeters, scopes, power supplies, etc.).
• Integrate sub-assemblies into higher units; prepare for acceptance test.
• Train less-experienced technicians; maintain safety around energized equipment.
