Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville seeks a hands-on engineer to apply broad multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge to mechanical, fluids, thermal, and electrical systems for spaceflight testing. You will contribute to test planning, execution, and readiness reviews while ensuring safety, quality, and mission alignment.

The role involves coordinating test crews, evaluating risks, and interfacing with vendors and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on role applying broad multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge to mechanical, fluids, thermal, electrical/electronic systems.
  • Leadership skills and commitment to quality are required.
  • Passion for Blue Origin's mission and vision is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Apply experience to mechanical component and subsystem test planning and execution, including development, qualification, acceptance, performance, and environmental testing.
  • Identify test events, needs and equipment required for test.
  • Apply experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems.
  • Create and review Test Plans, Test Procedures, safety assessments, schematics, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule, and technical risks.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
  • Participate in test readiness reviews, pre- and post-test briefings, and post-test reviews.
  • Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns.
  • Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing.
