Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced engineer to own the manufacturing processes for high-precision electromechanical control assemblies, panels, wiring harnesses, and related systems. You will ensure assemblies meet design intent, pass acceptance testing, and integrate with larger spacecraft systems.

The role emphasizes development of methods, SOPs, and collaboration with suppliers to compress timelines and improve first-pass yield in a small but growing team.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire run lists, and interconnect documentation.
• Hands on process knowledge of control panel build, harness fabrication, crimping and termination, wire marking, and cable routing.
• Experience developing and executing acceptance test procedures for integrated electrical or electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, protective relays, contactors, and control regulators.

Responsibilities

• Own the manufacturing process for low volume, high complexity control panels, cabinets, and wiring harnesses, including work performed by internal and external suppliers.
• Design and optimize assembly workflows for control cabinets, backplanes, terminal blocks, terminal boxes, switchgear, and integrated instrumentation.
• Develop panel layout and build documentation, including wire run lists, cable schedules, labeling schemes, and point to point wiring instructions.
• Create SOPs for communication cables, signal wires, winding leads, and control harnesses.
• Lead wiring integration between control assemblies and surrounding electromechanical assemblies, including routing and grounding.
