CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Engineer to join our team, developing leading-edge phased arrays for satellites and aerospace systems. You will detail system requirements, architecture concepts, and CONOPS, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure program success.

The role emphasizes rapid decision-making, strong technical leadership, and collaboration with customers and vendors to advance space communication programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with emphasis on space-based communication payloads.
• Practical experience with antenna and RF systems.
• Experience collaborating with product/component developers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements by evaluating customer and operational needs.
• Coordinate with program management for scheduling and execution.
• Be primary outward-facing technical lead in baseline discussions with external customers.
• Serve as liaison between program management, engineering and manufacturing.
• Develop system engineering processes for requirements management and traceability.
• Perform risk analysis and mitigation planning.
• Identify and resolve issues impeding engineering progress.
• Foster efficiency and continuous improvement across programs.
