Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Sous Chef for the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver. The role ensures meals leaving the kitchen meet quality, consistency, appearance, taste and cost targets. You will train staff, uphold corporate standards, and help enforce food specifications, portions, recipes and sanitation.

You will also control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction and partner closely with other F&B managers to address issues and maintain SOP compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of related progressive kitchen experience or 2+ years with culinary degree.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work long hours and communicate effectively with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in kitchen areas.
• Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
• Monitor quality of all food product and presentation.
• Oversee daily operation of the kitchen and food production areas; hot foods from main kitchen and bakery, and cold foods from pantry.
• Work with Executive Chef to create and implement menus.
• Assess food portion size, visual appeal, taste and temperature of items served.
