Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to drive design, analysis and proposal development for complex logistics and transportation solutions.

This role supports pursuit teams from initial concept through startup, mentoring engineers and delivering designs that align with customer needs and Ryder's capabilities. The position requires deep domain knowledge across transportation and warehousing networks, strong data analytics, and proficiency with design tools and CAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
• Six (6) years or more in the Transportation industry required
• Six (6) years or more in the Warehousing and/or Manufacturing industry required
• Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint expert required
• Knowledge of Tableau and database programming (intermediate) preferred
• Knowledge of metrics programs and design networks that are sustainable and measurable
• Experience with Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks
• Experience with design tools (JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM) and CAD tools (AutoCAD) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead solutions design for pursuit teams from start to finish
• Develop simulations and cost models to optimize logistics networks
• Coordinate with Pricing and other functions for cost and pricing models
• Prepare and present design proposals to customers
• Mentor and manage a small team of design engineers
• Support startup of awarded business through transition to operations
