Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to develop, design, and win new business in supply chain and dedicated transportation solutions.

You will craft designs that deliver financial value, align with customer needs, and guide proposals through to startup, leveraging advanced analytics and a cross-functional pursuit team. The role requires experience across design disciplines, simulation tools, and transportation/warehouse network optimization, with opportunities to mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
• Six+ years in transportation/warehousing industries are expected
• Strong proficiency with data analysis, Excel and visualization tools
• Experience in leading design initiatives within pursuit teams is preferred
• Knowledge of logistics design, cost modeling and process optimization

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, clarify gaps and develop solutions to meet customer needs
• Develop labor, equipment, facility and expense assumptions for designs
• Create cost models and pricing assumptions in collaboration with pricing
• Lead design processes to optimize logistics networks
• Present and defend design proposals to customers and internal stakeholders
• Coordinate with operations during startup and transition phases
• Mentor junior design engineers and improve design tools and methodologies
• Support ongoing post-award implementation and validation
