Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to independently lead technical engagements, from discovery to solution design and platform demos.

You will own frontline customer relationships and collaborate with the Account Executive to expand Databricks adoption across Digital Native customers. We expect 4+ years in data engineering or related roles, proficiency in Python/SQL, and hands-on cloud experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a hands-on consulting role.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with production-quality code; live coding is a required interview stage.
• Hands-on experience designing data solutions on at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Working knowledge of distributed data systems: Spark, Delta Lake, or equivalents.
• Experience leading technical customer conversations—discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviews.
• Familiarity with data engineering, data science/ML, or SQL analytics.
• Strong presentation and demo skills for live solution presentations.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads across data engineering, analytics, and ML.
• Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live demos on the Databricks Platform to drive technical wins.
• Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers and data teams.
• Develop account-level technical strategies with the Account Executive to grow platform consumption.
• Navigate competitive landscapes by articulating Databricks differentiation through hands-on demonstrations.
• Contribute reusable technical assets (notebooks, accelerators, references) to the SA community.
