Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking an Advanced Solar Technician at the Hollis Creek Energy Center in Many, LA. You will help operate and maintain a 185 MW-AC solar facility, performing routine maintenance on solar arrays, substation equipment, and related systems to ensure reliable energy production.

The role requires 4+ years in renewable energy operations, travel up to 30%, ability to work nights during maintenance, and the capacity to read electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in renewable energy (solar or wind) operations and maintenance, or eight (8+) years of relevant experience.
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Willing to support other project sites in the region.
• Willing to work nights during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Ability to climb and work safely from a portable step ladder.
• Ability to understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all site solar, substation, and associated equipment.
• Perform vegetation management, including operating large equipment to maintain the site per the vegetation management plan.
• Troubleshoot complicated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems, including inverter faults, tracker faults, network communications, ground faults, collection issues, substation issues, and general site performance issues.
• Understand the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all components of the solar site and associated equipment.
• Conduct site maintenance daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Work a schedule of 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday-Friday (40 hours), and be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime and potential night work. The work schedule may vary during peak maintenance periods.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
