Job summary

Invenergy is hiring a Solar Technician for the Hollis Creek Energy Center in Many, LA. The role focuses on operating and maintaining a 200 MW-AC solar facility, with duties ranging from mechanical/electrical maintenance to vegetation management and troubleshooting.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of technical experience, and willingness to travel up to 30%. Schedule is 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with overtime and possible night work. Safety gear and outdoor work are inherent to the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year technical experience (electrical, etc.).
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Willing to support other project sites in the region.
• Willing to work nights during maintenance activities.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Able to climb and work safely from a portable ladder.
• Understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on site equipment.
• Conduct vegetation management and operate large equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues including inverters and trackers.
• Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of site components.
• Daily site maintenance with safety equipment.
• Work a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, with overtime and potential night work.
• Maintain tooling, facilities, and a safe work environment.
