Job summary
The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and battery storage project development across the US and internationally, expanding our portfolio of owner-operated renewable plants.
You will work with a team to evaluate opportunities, perform due diligence, respond to RFPs, and coordinate with the Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams. A depth of experience with PV systems and battery storage is preferred.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict)
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab)
- Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person)
- Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines
- Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries)
- Technical diligence for new project opportunities and third-party data
- Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition conceptual to 30% design studies
- Development of technical deliverables for RFP responses and proposals
