Job summary

DNV Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Solar Energy Analyst to join the Solar Energy Assessments team in North America. You will deliver solar resource and energy production analyses for diverse projects, leveraging data-driven methods to drive reliable decision-making.

You will work with a team to produce reports, refine methodologies, and apply the latest tools and AI-assisted workflows, while advancing the deployment of renewables across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, atmospheric or related field is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in North America in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of solar resource assessment, energy production modeling, and PV system operation.
• Experience with MCP analyses and understanding resource variability impacts.
• Strong data-analysis skills; proficient in Excel, Python, or similar.
• Experience with Python data science packages, Jupyter, Git, and software workflows.
• Experience with SolarFarmer, PlantPredict, PVcase, PVSyst, pvlib, SAM or similar tools.
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate data analysis while protecting confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments for utility-scale and other project types.
• Analyze operational production data; evaluate resource variability and support energy yield assessments.
• Ensure deliverables meet DNV standards; prepare technical reports and perform QA.
• Collaborate to implement industry methods and develop analytical tools and workflows.
