Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee day-to-day operations on active solar and storage projects. This role can be fully remote or hybrid with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

You will collaborate with internal teams, track performance, and deliver comprehensive analyses and reports. You will lead a team, analyze PV system performance using tools like PVsyst, PlantPredict, and SAM, and communicate findings to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering or data analytics.
• Experience with PV modeling software such as PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Programming experience with Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and ensure adherence to safe practices across field and office teams.
• Collect, consolidate data, and deliver reports, tests, and analyses.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Collaborate with Performance Engineers to track issues and optimize fleet performance.
• Troubleshoot performance data and correlate with workorder data for reporting.
• Lead day-to-day coordination of operational activities for projects.
• Understand site design, equipment, and current project issues.
• Analyze energy losses and performance impacts from outages or underperformance.
• Update client reports such as Commissioning Plans and Test Reports.
• Support field team prioritization based on criticality and failures.
• Coordinate with OEM vendors, field technicians, and SCADA engineers for issue resolution.
• Assist in data analytics tool development and performance engineering workflows.
• Review reports to identify operational/performance issues.
• Drive plant performance optimization initiatives with teams and clients.
• Track guarantees and assess project risks and improvements.
