Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee daily operations on active solar and storage projects. The role supports data collection, reporting, and onboarding on internal platforms. Location is flexible to remote or hybrid with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to analyze performance data, optimize fleets, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ Years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering or data analytics.
• Experience in modeling using software like PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office tools.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java, and others preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
• Broad understanding of the Renewable Energy industry with emphasis on Service and Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities of active projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data for reports and analyses.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Monitor issues and optimize fleet performance with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze energy losses and report impact to stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor Performance Engineers I/II.
• Maintain project drawings, reports, and commissioning records.
• Run PV system energy models using PVsyst or similar tools.
