Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to maintain and repair solar facilities across remote sites. The role emphasizes safety, supervision of junior techs, and timely documentation of operations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in solar maintenance, strong electrical knowledge, and readiness for on-call work in varied weather. A valid driver’s license and safety certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training is a plus.
• Minimum four years of experience in solar facility maintenance and repair.
• Demonstrate advanced computer operation skills and ability to operate system monitoring applications.
• Advanced knowledge of solar systems, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformers.
• Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues.
• Ability to pass exams on electrical schematics/symbols and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
• OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70e safety training.
• Self-sufficient and safety-conscious in all conditions.
• Strong English communication and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the top function and ensure compliant practices on site.
• Perform, direct, and supervise site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure a safe working environment per company and industry standards.
• Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar equipment with proper training.
• Lead safety regulation adherence for the team.
• Train Solar Technician Levels I–IV and provide ongoing coaching.
• Prepare timely documentation and required site operation reports.
• Coordinate with EPC management on improvements and new technologies.
• Assist on-call emergencies and collaborate with PM, OCC, HV, SCADA, IT teams.
