Job summary

SunVest Solar, LLC is seeking aSenior Estimator to support our pre-construction team across a nationwide solar portfolio. You will develop detailed cost estimates, review drawings, and coordinate with EPCs and suppliers to ensure competitive, accurate bids.

You will analyze labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing, lead the estimating process, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and development teams to optimize designs for cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years estimating experience, at least 2 in solar.
• Experience in construction cost estimation (materials, labor, subcontractor pricing, risk).
• Proficiency with estimating software (Bluebeam, ProEst, Primavera, Excel).
• Passionate about renewable energy and improvement through collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop precise cost estimates for commercial solar projects across labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead.
• Coordinate with EPCs and external partners to obtain cost data.
• Interpret customer scope, drawings, and specs to craft bid proposals.
• Source competitive pricing from subcontractors and vendors to fit scope and budget.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical, civil, structural, and mechanical components.
• Lead the estimating process from pre-bid to handoff.
• Analyze market trends to improve forecasting and value engineering.
• Collaborate with sponsors, trade partners, and internal teams on methodologies.
