Job summary

RES is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction activities for solar, high‑voltage, and battery storage projects from opportunity to kickoff. You will coordinate engineering, estimating, procurement, contracting, legal, risk, tax, business development, and operations to align technical and commercial requirements with business objectives.

You will drive standardized preconstruction processes, develop strategies, review bids, and ensure smooth turnover to the execution team,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or another construction/technical related field is required.
• PMP or similar project management training is preferred.
• 3+ years of construction or engineering experience required.
• Ability to travel 5–15% is required.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to supervise and guide indirect reports as needed.
• Knowledge of solar construction processes and high‑voltage, battery storage knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction from RFP through construction kick‑off, coordinating cross‑functional teams.
• Develop project execution strategy and identify stakeholders.
• Review proposals, schedules, and budgets with the team.
• Prepare initial schedules and cash flow and ensure accurate bidding documents.
• Monitor design scope for changes affecting budget and schedule.
• Lead risk reviews, proposal reviews, and management meetings.
• Ensure turnover of preconstruction to construction with proper hand‑offs.
• Interface with owners/clients to define expectations and success goals.
• Coordinate with QS, engineering, and procurement for pricing and subcontracts.
• Maintain documentation in Procore and SharePoint and track action items.
