Job summary

Knobelsdorff Electric Inc. is seeking a Solar Estimator to evaluate project information, review designs, and create compelling proposals for photovoltaic installations across the United States.

You will develop bid packages, manage RFPs, and solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors while maintaining close collaboration with internal teams and clients to deliver accurate, complete bids ranging from 1MW to 50+MW.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience or combination with field exp.
• Background in general estimating, solar, construction management, or project management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
• Estimating software experience preferred: HeavyBid, Accubid, B2W.
• Scheduling knowledge and software (MS Project or P6) preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review bid packages and lead/high-quality pricing and proposal development.
• Develop comprehensive bid packages for client submittals.
• Lead RFP development and vendor/subcontractor pricing.
• Direct client interface during bidding and design.
• Coordinate pricing requests for bonds, taxes, insurance, and prevailing wage.
• Maintain solar estimating database and pricing models.
• Prepare and present bid proposals with clear scope and exclusions.
