Job summary

Knobelsdorff Electric Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Energy division on solar and BESS projects.

You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, delivering constructible, code-compliant designs while upholding KE's safety and performance standards. You will design system layouts, perform voltage drop calcs, and support field reviews, with travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or power systems design
• Working knowledge of NEC and renewable energy standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVCase, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems for solar and BESS installations
• Create system layouts, stringing plans, voltage drop calcs, and specifications
• Support construction with site visits and technical reviews
• Develop and maintain system drawings, equipment specifications, and reports
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and industry standards
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, and regulators
• Review vendor submittals and coordinate with procurement
• Maintain accurate documentation within project databases
• Provide feedback and improvements based on field conditions
• Assist with permitting and interconnection requirements
• Travel to job sites as needed
