Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Senior Estimator to develop precise, competitive estimates for utility-scale solar PV projects, ensuring bid integrity and timely delivery.

You will analyze plans, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor quotes, and mentor junior estimators while upholding safety and company standards. The role covers large-scale solar with strong growth opportunities in the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale solar PV projects.
• Proven track record of estimating and winning significant solar projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid, B2W) and Microsoft Office.
• Thorough understanding of solar PV components, installation methods, and NEC/IEEE/UL standards.
• Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and contract documents.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects.
• Analyze project plans and specs to assess scope and identify risks.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for solar components.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, and business development teams to optimize design and cost.
• Maintain understanding of market conditions and material/labor costs.
• Lead bid reviews and present to clients with clear scope and cost breakdowns.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs.
• Mentor junior estimators and promote a high-performing team.
