Job summary
AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to drive solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify opportunities, perform technical due diligence, and respond to RFPs with cross-functional teams.
The role focuses on preliminary design evaluation, coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams, and requires experience in PV and storage systems from 2MW to 500MW.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
- Site evaluation (remote and in-person) for project suitability.
- Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
