Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and internationally. You will qualify opportunities, perform due diligence, and respond to RFPs from utilities and municipalities with cross-functional teams.

The role requires up to 15% travel, deep experience in PV and storage design/analysis, and a track record with PVSYST/Helioscope.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
5+ years of renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
Proficiency with renewable energy modeling tools such as PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope and Plant Predict.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Energy production modeling for projects in development (PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
Battery dispatch modeling for projects in development (Excel, Matlab).
Site evaluation for project suitability (remote and in-person).
Project pricing and value engineering exercises with an Estimator.
Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single lines.
Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries).
Technical diligence for new project opportunities (third-party estimates, site plans, data).
Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition design studies up to 30%.
