Job summary
AES Corporation is actively seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead solar PV and integrated battery energy storage project development across the US and international markets. The role involves qualifying opportunities, performing technical due diligence, and coordinating with Business Development, Execution, and Finance teams to drive a growing renewable portfolio.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis and construction.
- Proficiency with common renewable energy system modeling tools (PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope, Plant Predict).
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced Excel skills.
Responsibilities
- Energy production modeling for projects in development.
- Battery dispatch modeling and site evaluation for project suitability.
- Project pricing and value engineering with an Estimator.
- Create preliminary plant designs and layouts.
- Recommend primary project equipment (inverters, PV modules, racking, batteries).
- Technical diligence for new project opportunities and third-party data.
- Support for RFPs, Greenfield Development, and Acquisition studies.
