Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a 100% remote U.S.-based role. The position requires strong programming skills (C#, Java, Python) and extensive experience in automated/manual testing within Agile environments.

Candidates must meet Public Trust (MBI) clearance requirements and have 10+ years in testing and QA. Responsibilities include developing test plans, executing tests, documenting results, and leading defect-resolution activities.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases and scripts.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with Git and Subversion.
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of SQL and databases for validating data.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, services.
• Understanding security testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers and Developers.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support analysis of test results and issue resolution.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Develop solutions to complex problems.
• Mentor and guide junior testers.
