Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Software Test Engineer for a 100% U.S.-based remote role. Strong programming skills in C#, .Net, Java, or Python are required, with a track record in both manual and automated testing.

You must meet Public Trust (MBI) clearance and bring extensive experience across SDLC, Agile, and test design. The role involves developing test plans, scripts, executing tests, creating metrics, and mentoring junior testers while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Formación

• Candidates must have strong programming skills in C#, .Net, Java, or Python.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Subversion).
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of database and SQL for validating stored data.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, and services.
• Understanding of security testing practices and tools.
• Experience across functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and UAT testing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to quality.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to mentor junior testers.
• Ability to translate business requirements into test scenarios.
• Experience with test management tools.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Ability to conduct test reviews and provide feedback.
• Strong grasp of risk-based and exploratory/context-driven testing.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure information systems meet standards and end-user requirements
• Develop test plans and schedules and defining approaches
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios
• Conduct walkthroughs on test cases/scripts with stakeholders
• Perform and lead tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free systems
• Perform verification activities on work products following defined methods
• Document and communicate test results
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of issues
• Document and work to resolve complex problems
• Report progress on problem resolution to management
• Devise improvements to procedures and develop models for future configurations
• Create daily test metrics and reporting
• Occasionally perform other IT systems engineering activities
• Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field
• Receive assignments and set goals to meet objectives
• Provide direction to employees per policies
• Measure whether objectives are met
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of problems
• Ensure solutions are imaginative, thorough, and aligned with objectives
• Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions
• Review work for adequacy and quality
