Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Senior Manager for Portfolio Construction to lead the Tools and Insights capabilities within Risk-Aware Portfolio Construction. You will shape the roadmap, coach engineers, and deliver scalable, reliable solutions for investment professionals.

You will partner with Product and business stakeholders to align strategy with investor outcomes, drive delivery excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across IG Tech.

Qualifications

• Partnership instincts and ability to shape strategy with business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals (distributed systems, cloud, APIs, testing).
• Experience building investor-facing products on platforms and data capabilities.
• Experience with investment workflows, portfolio construction, risk analytics, and financial data.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate issues into clear direction.
• Establish discipline and accountability while empowering teams to innovate.
• Use agile and metrics-driven practices to improve delivery and transparency.
• Strong communication with engineers, Product, investment professionals and leadership.
• Mentor and develop engineering managers and senior ICs.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve RAPC tools and insights strategy with Product and stakeholders.
• Maintain a clear roadmap balancing investor value and technical sustainability.
• Lead engineering execution across investor-facing tools and insights capabilities.
• Implement operating mechanisms for roadmap visibility, capacity, risks and outcomes.
• Promote operational excellence in reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Guide architecture with reusable components and scalable platforms.
• Collaborate with Product and business stakeholders to validate solutions.
• Mentor leaders to operate across organizational boundaries and responsibilities.
