Job summary

Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated seeks a Software Engineering Manager, Investment Technologies to lead agile teams building secure, scalable solutions for the Investments organization and investment accounting.

You will partner with product, operations, accounting, architecture, data, security, risk, and vendors to modernize applications, APIs, and data capabilities across front, middle, and back offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required.
• 9+ years of progressive software engineering experience required.
• 3+ years of formal people-management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineers across the full employee lifecycle; set clear expectations and accountability.
• Own delivery and operational outcomes for the team’s products and services, balancing features, regulatory commitments, and reliability.
• Investment business partnership: build relationships with Investments, Operations, Accounting; understand portfolio management, settlement, valuations, risk, reporting.
• Product and Agile execution: shape roadmaps with Product Management, translate needs into engineering work in an agile model.
• Architecture and technical direction: collaborate with architects to implement target-state patterns across apps, APIs, data, and infra.
• Software engineering excellence: enforce secure coding, testing, CI/CD, IaC, observability, release management.
• Cloud, data and integration: deliver cloud-native services, data pipelines, and API-first integrations.
• Vendor ecosystem: oversee investment platforms and external providers; manage upgrades and integration strategies.
• Reliability and operations: ensure availability, monitoring, incident response, DR, and issue resolution.
• Risk, security and controls: align with SOX ITGC, SOC 1/2, data governance and privacy requirements.
• Financial and resource management: manage budgets, staffing, and vendor spend.
• Innovation: evaluate new technologies and improve productivity while adhering to security and compliance.
• Stakeholder communication: report progress and risks to engineers, business, and executives.
