Job summary

Capital Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Portfolio Construction (Software Development Manager - Senior) to lead RAPC's Tools and Insights capabilities. You will shape strategy, build scalable platforms, and guide teams that help investment professionals analyze risks, model actions, and make informed decisions.

You will partner with Product, investment teams, and IG Tech leaders to evolve the platform, drive delivery, and mentor engineers toward reliable, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• You have strong partnership instincts and are comfortable shaping strategy, co-owning roadmaps, and aligning technology investments with business outcomes.
• You possess a deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, cloud architecture, APIs, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• You have experience building products that combine investor-facing experiences with underlying platforms, services, and data capabilities.
• You have experience with investment workflows, portfolio construction, risk analytics, performance measurement, financial data, or other high-stakes decision-support environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the long-term strategy for RAPC's Tools and Insights capabilities in partnership with Product and business stakeholders.
• Build and maintain a clear roadmap that balances investor value, technical sustainability, and organizational capacity.
• Drive alignment across teams to ensure delivery efforts contribute to a coherent long-term vision.
• Lead engineering execution across a portfolio of investor-facing tools and insight-delivery capabilities.
• Establish operating mechanisms that provide visibility into roadmap progress and delivery health.
• Foster a culture of operational excellence focused on reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.
